I was at a client party on wednesday night belting out toons at the top of my voice and it occurred to me that there’s one song absolutely guaranteed to make me think of Christmas:
(and I never realised Matt Dillon was in this video before)
So now I want to hear about your Ultimate Christmas Songs. To get the ball rolling I’m tagging Jo Beaufoix, English Mum, Tara, Laura and Him Up North.
Show us what you’ve got.
[…] I missed the flipping linky! At around the same time, @HimUpNorth tagged me in a meme called the 'Ultimate Christmas Song' […]
Done!

Oooh I love that one too. Hmmm, must ponder…
I bet no-one is sad enough to like my fave – Johnny Mathis, When a Child is Born – I can even say the middle spoken bit if you really want me to. You don’t do you? 😉
OK, the Pogues have it for me. Guaranteed my all time favourite Christmas song. But as this is already picked, I’d have to go to completely the other end of the extreme and plump for the choir singing Christmas carols with a brass band accompaniment. Good old Sainsburys were pumping them out right left and centre on Saturday and it convinced me to spend £60 on presents when I was only going in for Milk and something for tea 🙂
I love Fairytale of New York too. As a child my mum had a Jim Reeves record with a song called Scarlet Ribbon on it. It was so lovely and I remember being so in awe of this magical story/song.
Ooh I love that one too, Maria – hasn’t she recorded a new version with Justin Bieber?
EEEeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funnyou should say that cos for me it’s got to be Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas is you’…the original of course.
Noooooo! You’ve stolen my song though 🙂
Ooh I do love that song, also the Band Aid (original) one gives me goosebumps!
