I don’t know which of these two photos I like more, because the outfits are outstanding. The first is of me, my sister and my mum with one of my aunts and my cousins in their massive garden in Berkshire. I love the dress my mum is wearing and the way she’s holding her drink, and what really makes me laugh about it is that we all look really coordinated, like the Partridge Family or something. The colour purple must have been really in that summer.
The second photo is of me and my sister with our relatives from Canada – my Dutch-born aunt, my Uncle and our cousins. I love the maxi dresses my aunt and my cousin Shirley are wearing – so cool and retro. The steps are of course leading up to the lions at Trafalgar Square. I’m guessing it was very hot and my sister had been for a dip in the fountains, which is why she’s only wearing her knickers. In Central London.
This is my entry for the Gallery and the theme this week is ‘family.’
Fab pictures. Love the fashion
Your mum does look very chic. And who can blame your sister? Life is better without trousers. In Central London.
Like you I love the maxi dresses worm on the second photo and straight away the fashion gives away the era in which these family photos were taken! X
Love it Liz. Rockin’ those maxi dresses girl!
Fabulous pictures. Love the outfits!
Love the knickers in both pictures, hilarious!
Fab photos- really capturing the fashion! I was looking through my mums photo box a few weeks back and was alarmed to find some of the styles are now coming back!!
Both awesome. I am constantly banging on to people about how our lifetimes in a family span so many varying decades, and that our photo memories are precious little treasures which spell out our social history. great for me to see that you’ve got such awesome fashions to show off the 70s so well!!
Long dresses for a day in London, so impractical but so lovely.
