The One with the BIG family travel adventure

June 23, 2015

As my friends will tell you, I’m TERRIBLE at keeping secrets (unless it’s something very serious, of course) so for the past few weeks I’ve been sitting on my hands in case I jinx this. But now the flights are confirmed and I can finally start planning for our BIG family travel adventure.

And one of the most exciting things about this trip is that No 1 Son, who has been reluctant to walk down the street with me for the past couple of years let alone spend a week with me, has deigned to come with me – I think it was the magic phrases ‘skydiving at sea’, ‘bumper cars at sea’ and ‘Asia’ which did it.

So, if you haven’t guessed already (and those were pretty big clues), here are a few more…

We’ll be flying to here (where we’ll be staying a few days)…Shanghai

Quantum of the Seas

…and then we’ll be boarding this…

Nagasaki

…and we’ll be cruising to here.

I KNOW. It’s basically a DREAM family travel adventure for me and No 1 Son; not only will we be visiting China and Japan, but we’ll also be sailing on one of my absolutely favourite cruise ships, Royal Caribbean‘s Quantum of the Seas, which I’ve been desperate to sail on again since the inaugural cruise from Southampton last October. So as well as being a mother and son bonding trip, our big family travel adventure is going to take us to two of the most exciting countries IN THE WORLD on one of the best cruise ships IN THE WORLD. EVER. I KNOW.

For the next month I’m going to be running round sorting visas and all that good stuff, and of course I’ll be blogging and tweeting and instagramming every step of our trip.

I honestly don’t know how I’m going to sleep for the next five and a half weeks. I may become hysterical 😉
