I know, I know, and believe me, I’m feeling a *little* guilty, because the weather here has been so miserable and I know many of us have been longing for blue skies and sunshine and warmth and all that good stuff.
But this afternoon we’re getting a British Airways plane to Miami. We’re staying there overnight, and then tomorrow we get on Carnival Cruise Lines ship Carnival Breeze to sail around the Caribbean. I KNOW *screams*.
And my body feels as though it really needs a break from the relentless damp and cold, particularly somewhere where the pace of life is a little bit more laid back, with as many archetypal Caribbean features as possible, please, including those classic beautiful beaches and stunning sunsets. Plus I can’t wait to swim in the sea again – it feels like forever since last summer. The islands we’ll be visiting are Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic and Curaçao, and I’ve never been to any of them before, so really excited about that. Hopefully I’ll be able to add them to my best Caribbean islands for families. Plus we’ll be going snorkelling and I love to snorkel.
Most of all, though, I’m just looking forward to soaking up some sunshine. I promise to bring some back with me.
