Talking tomatoes on Twitter with the star of Pretty in Pink

May 1, 2012

Let me ‘fess up straight away and say I was quite a Molly Ringwald fan in the Eighties. I had The Breakfast Club poster on my my bedroom wall (which was, erm, pink), I loved Sixteen Candles and of course she was the star of Pretty in Pink (although I think I was the only one who preferred James Spader to Andrew McCarthy). I even wore pink for a while because of her. So I was thrilled to see she’d joined Twitter (verified and everything).

On Saturday she tweeted a photo of her giant tomatoes. I asked what she was feeding them and she replied:

*Faints*

Love that she’s keeping it real. And still very pretty in pink, apparently.

Oh my goodness! I was a HUGE Molly Ringwald fan, and loved the Breakfast Club. My sister and I broke the Betamax tape it was recorded onto as we watched it so much. How fab.
