Well following on from last week’s Gallery theme of Light, in which I showed you rather a lot of colour (and light) in my photos taken on Waterloo Bridge at sunset, this week’s theme is actually colour. So I decided to take some pictures in our house, to show you how I’ve used colour to decorate.
My natural instinct is always to go for white or neutral walls and then add splashes of colour (the white on the walls in the sitting room is actually ‘Gallery White’ and it changes colour according to the light -so first thing in the morning it looks quite blue)…
I use orange to accentuate a lot…
and I love the deep red of these candlesticks, which are from Denmark
But in No 1 Son’s room I decided to really go for colour and painted one entire wall silver, which contrasts well with the blue of the other walls (and the canvas prints of Darth, Steve and Che).

Love orange. Possibly my favourite colour, although I am a green fiend too!
Love the orange bowl!
I’m trying to be a bit braver with colour splashes – very effective
Cool pics 🙂
Love an accent colour but I struggle to choose just one thereby defeating the object!
Love that orange bowl!!
You could get a small family in that bowl.
i love that orange bowl!!
I LOVE the cushion in the first pic and love the idea that the wall paint changes colour according to the light. Fab!
I love the photo of the orange bowl x
I recognise that cushion! Did you happen to acquire it at the JL Christmas pre-launch by any chance? (We were chatting over cupcakes, as I recall…)
I like the idea of Gallery white.
Can’t quite decide which photo I prefer! The orange bowl is fab…
Fab orange bowl, but the pairing (tripling?)of Steve, Darth and Che is genius!!!!!!
