Salon review: The Chelsea Day Spa

June 17, 2013

The Chelsea Day Spa treatment roomAs someone who is always pressed for time, I’m a big fan of day spas, because they offer the chance to have essential beauty treatments in a relaxing setting. When I was invited along to the Chelsea branch of The Chelsea Day Spa for the treatments of my choice, I made it clear I would only be able to give up an hour. In fact, my therapist was so efficient, she had waxed me – full leg, underarm and bikini – in 45 minutes.

The Chelsea Day SpaThe Chelsea Day Spa is situated on the top two floors of a townhouse just off the King’s Road, and the atmosphere is very much that of a quiet, discreet, boutique hotel. There’s a lovely nail bar, offering manicures and pedicures, and several treatment rooms. The spa menu is surprisingly extensive and includes Darphin and HydroPeptide luxury facials, an assortment of massages and Hot Stone Therapy.

My therapist was excellent – she worked quickly, but was also happy to talk and revealed she has also waxed the likes of Twiggy, the Made In Chelsea girls and Shaznay from All Saints. She also gave me probably the least painful bikini wax I’ve ever had in my life.

A full leg wax is £30, which I don’t think is too bad considering the location of the salon. You can also hire it for special occasions, for example hen parties. I’m just delighted to have found an affordable beauty salon I can pop to in my lunch hour 🙂

*Update: I was very disappointed when I tried to make a review at The Chelsea Day Spa recently for a beauty treatment and they wanted me to pay up front immediately to confirm the booking. What if I was disappointed with the treatment or had to cancel for any reason? I’m afraid I haven’t been back since 🙁
