Salon review: Hair at the House of Rush

September 16, 2013

The House of Rush hair salonThe House of Rush is rapidly becoming one of my favourite London salons – partly because it’s so convenient, located right on Piccadilly; and partly because I absolutely love the ambience. The staff are cool, the salon looks great – big chandeliers everywhere, steel ceiling beams – and it feels very urban chic.

Hair cuttingI’ve told you before how much I enjoyed my beauty treatment there; but I hadn’t experienced the hair salon. So last week, the day of my magazine’s awards, I booked in for a cut and blow dry with Ben Russell, who is a rising star in the hairdressing world.

Now my hair takes some doing. There is a lot of it, it’s coloured, and because I’ve spent so much time in the sun this summer, it’s also very dry. But Ben gave me a gorgeous Shu Uemura treatment, before expertly cutting off the dead ends.

(I was also given a fab espresso – the salon has a great coffee bar with its own maitre d’. Love that.)

Then it was on to the blow drying, and rollers were put in…
