Ever since we first tried out Kinect – back when it was still Project Natal, in fact – I’ve been a huge fan. I love the freedom it gives you, and the fact you don’t need to hold anything to play it.
I also love the way it encourages the whole family to play together. My eight-year-old nephew Ben and 15-year-old niece Harriet, in particular, are huge fans also, which has made for many a riotous Sunday lunch. Even Granny has a go (trust me, seeing is believing).
So here, in no particular order, are our top three XBox 360 Kinect games for Christmas. Hours of fun in every case.
This is so genius. It takes you inside the parks and brings the rides to life, meeting Disney characters along the way.
Kinect Sports: Season Two
One of the best things about Kinect is the way it encourages the players to be active and use your whole body – I’m not kidding, you really feel as though you’ve had a proper workout afterwards. Sports on this game include tennis, skiing and, er, darts. Great fun.
And my personal favourite
Dance Central 2
We simply love this – although if you’re uncordinated like me it can be a bit of a challenge getting the hang of the steps. Fab choice of tunes (Venus by Bananarama, anyone?) and guaranteed to leave you hysterical.
I’ve bought one for Xmas (shh!) with Dance Central 2 and Sports 2 so am glad to see these so highly rated. Disneyland looks great, I might have to add that to the wishlist.
We love ours and really disappointed that Star Wars has been postponed as I pre-ordered it for the boys for Christmas.
Our toddler has just discovered gaming and has been learning on the Wii, but we set up a demo of Kinectimals for him last week. He adores it and it’s perfect for under 5’s. He has become quite adept at making his favourite panther do tricks and adores driving it around the safari park!!
This is a fan present idea for almost all ages!! Even the baby is a fan of just watching her big brothers and sisters (and mum & dad) of making complete idiots of themselves!!
Great for keeping fit too!!
