The One with all the beautiful lingerie

When did you last treat yourself to some really beautiful lingerie? If you’re anything like me, it was probably eons ago, because frankly, if I do buy lingerie it tends to be super practical gripper knickers rather than anything pretty or flimsy. But if you think about it, there’s nothing that says just because you’re a mum you shouldn’t have fabulous lingerie, is there?

So when the lovely people at Gossard and Berlei asked me if I’d like to try some of their lingerie, I was intrigued: would it be possible to find a bra and knickers that were not only gorgeous to look at, but also… ahem… robust enough to contain my curves?

They sent me a box of lingerie, all wrapped in layers of tissue paper, which was pretty exciting in itself, containing three sets, which prompted A LOT of squealing, and I couldn’t wait to try it all on. Here’s what I thought… (and no, I’m not actually modelling it for you. There are limits):

Berlei Free Lace. This is a very glamorous set and the shaping bra gives you a real va-va-voom look, which is a bonus, although it’s not quite as comfortable to wear as the Gossard sets below. I’m not really used to wearing padded bras but I can see the appeal. And the matching control briefs are really fab.

 

Gossard Summer in heather. Definitely my favourite set, just irresistibly pretty. It feels absolutely wonderful on,a mix of satin and lace, and it’s so well structured it gives a fantastic shape. LOVE. The matching short knickers are probably a little on the skimpy side for me but that won’t stop me wearing them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gossard Glossies in white. Despite its very sexy, diaphanous appearance, this set is actually much more supportive than it looks. So comfortable, and because of its sheer appearance it’s easy to wear under anything. Plus the deep short knickers are incredibly flattering. I’m certain I’ll wear this set a lot.

So there you have it. My beautiful new lingerie *sighs happily*. I honestly don’t know why I waited so long.
