Oh Christmas tree oh Christmas tree

December 18, 2013

Christmas treeI’m trying not to panic, and I know there’s only ONE WEEK TO GO, but honestly, this Christmas Tree is about as far as I’ve got with getting anything ready for December 25th. I KNOW. Fortunately I break up from work for the holidays on Friday, so I’ll be able to start doing some last minute panic-buying then; but meanwhile, we’re enjoying our beautiful (real) Christmas tree in all its glory, complete with some of our decorations bought on our travels around the world: the ones you see close up here are the Swarovski crystal wreath bought in Cologne, Germany; our Hawaiian Christmas angel, made from shells, and bought in Waikiki, O’ahu; and our magical Tinkerbell fairy, with her wings that change colour, bought in Disneyland Paris.  It makes me so happy to see all the decorations on the tree, reminding us of the adventures we’ve had. Now all it needs are some presents to go underneath *cough*.

*This is my entry for the Gallery and the theme this week (in case you haven’t guessed) is ‘Christmas Tree’.

We have some fantastic decorations from the Cologne market as well. I love decorating the tree each year and rediscovering all the ornaments from the past, including some I’ve had since I was a baby.

Your tree looks lovely. I’ve always wanted a real tree but never had one yet. Maybe next year (I say that every year!).
