New passport to possibility

January 15, 2014

new passportThis is my brand new passport, which arrived on Thursday (it only took a week, how brilliant is that?) OK, it doesn’t LOOK exciting, but it’s what the passport represents. Because for me, a passport is full of possibility; the chance to travel anywhere I want in the world.

For me, a passport represents total freedom. My last passport had visas from Russia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand; it showed I’d entered the US many times. This one is completely blank, every page. Next week I’m off to Norway to see the Northern Lights; in February, Miami; in March, France.

Imagine not being able to get a passport, to have no official identity. Makes you think, doesn’t it?

This little document, apparently so insignificant, is the item I’d save in a fire (apart from our Sky+ box). Have new passport, will travel.

(The new passport cover was a gift from Disney Cruise Line – isn’t it fab?)

*This is my entry to The Gallery and the theme this week is ‘new’.

Good luck with seeing the Northern Lights. We went to Tromso last February for a week and saw them 4/7 night- they were magic 🙂

I’ve always said to my kids, always keep your passport up to date; it MAKES you want to travel to get your moneys worth out of it!

Ahhhh the possibilities! Envious of your Norway trip, the northern lights is on my bucket list 🙂

I am so jealous you are off to see the northern lights. I wanted to go for my 30th but the funds weren’t available. I love Miami. It was the last holiday we had before we had children, so it was one to cherish!

Just think of all the exciting things that one tiny book of paper allows. How awesome!

I was so grateful to get a new passport a few years ago. I had suffered for years with the most hideous photo. I made sure I looked presentable the next time.
Lots of adventures for you ahead. I still have no idea where we’re going this year.
