My best travel photo of the year – what’s yours?

December 11, 2012

I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been to some fabulous places this year, including Singapore and Vietnam. I was honoured to be at the Disneyland Paris 20th anniversary celebrations in April, and also went on a cruise to Barcelona, Portofino and Rome.

And the beauty of doing so much travelling is being able to take photos of some really fabulous sights. I don’t pretend to be a good photographer but I am getting better, and I do enjoy it.

So my best travel photo of the year is this one of the Fontana di Trevi – the Trevi fountain. When you have such good material to work with, it’s impossible to take a BAD photo of it, and I did cut the scaffolding off (it always seems to be covered in scaffolding) – but it was on one of those Rome days where the sky is so blue it just makes it look extra impressive. No filter necessary.

What’s the best travel photo you’ve taken this year? I’d love to see it.

What a fab sky – brings back pre-kid memories of my honeymoon! My fave travel photo i’ve taken this year is of my girls overlooking the mountains in Kleinwalsertal, Austria. Not only was the view amazing, but it was the first time we’ve done such an active summer holiday. Fantastic.

This picture makes my heart sing and sink at the same time. I love Rome and I particularly love the Trevi Fountain. I have a painting of it. Hope you threw some coins in?
