Morning has broken

London sunriseI took this photo one morning last week from my bedroom window, because it was the most perfect sunrise I think I’ve seen in London for a long time; it’s not enhanced in any way, there’s no filter on it, these were the actual colours of the sky. Incredible, right?

Even when I’m not jetlagged, which I was most of last week, I’m usually up pretty early most mornings – around 6am – because of Yoda, who has this habit of raking me with his paws until I get up. Of course No 1 Son is always totally oblivious and stays asleep as long as possible. But I actually quite like being up when no one else is awake, apart from me and the dog, and I often blog in the morning.

spring flowersYoda has a dog walker but before I go to work I always take him for a walk around the little park opposite our house. Right now it’s covered in rivers of spring flowers – daffodils, snowdrops and crocus; they’re absolutely beautiful.

*This is my entry for The Gallery – the theme this week is ‘morning.’

lovely path of flowers. It is the thought of having to get up for a dog and walk it in the morning that puts me off owning one but so many say it is wonderful.
