I’m such a fan of rocking horses for kids – they really add a special finishing touch to a child’s nursery or bedroom, plus, until they fuel an interest in riding the real thing.
If you’re thinking of buying a child a rocking horse this Christmas, then this Janod Caramel Rocking Horse (Β£99, from Toyella) ticks all the boxes – it has a simple but stylish ergonomic design and it’s beautifully made and although it comes flat-packed, it’s easy to put together. ItΒ can be used for children as young as 12 months old by utilising the protective ring that comes with the horse, which ensures little ones remain safe and secure on the horse as it rocks, and it’s suitable for children up to four years.
As your children become more mobile and their balance improves the supporting ring can be easily removed. Thankfully for those of us who have wooden floors, the rockers have rubber stoppers that cushion and limit the children’s rock while protecting flooring. It’s a lovely modern toy with a traditional look and feel and I think any child would be absolutely delighted to find it under the tree at Christmas.
*I’ve teamed up with Toyella to give you the chance to win one of these beautiful rocking horses. To enter, all you have to do is leave your answer to the following question by the closing date, 11.59pm on November 18. The winner will be chosen using a random number generator, and the usual The Mum Blog competition rules apply.
Q: Who would you give the rocking horse to if you won it?
Good luck!
