Love and wet jeans

April 6, 2011

This morning we had a row about wet jeans. He announced at 7am, 20 minutes before he has to leave for school, that it’s Mufti Day and as I washed all of his jeans last night (but didn’t dry them) nothing was ready. Which, I think you’ll agree, is Not My Fault. ‘You can’t go out in those, you’ll catch your death of cold,’ I said, sounding like my own mother.

It was a losing battle and I had to admit defeat.

This is one of my favourite photos of him, taken when he was slightly more willing to listen to his mum:

He has his moments though. As you can see from the card he ‘made’ for me for Mother’s Day:

I’d be lost without him, too.

*This is my entry to the Gallery and the theme this week is ‘Mother Love’.

Those good moments see us through the trials of the rest of them but sometimes they seem a long time in the coming!
