A little piece of Russia at Christmas

December 11, 2013

I’ve told you before how collecting Christmas tree ornaments when I’m travelling is my thing; not for me bottles of limoncello or pottery cats which lie around gathering dust, I like beautiful handmade Christmas tree decorations that remind us of everywhere we’ve been.

Russian Christmas baubleI bought this ornament in St Petersburg Russia this summer. It’s handpainted, and what I really love about it is the colours – so so pretty. We haven’t bought our tree yet (we’ll be doing that this weekend) but when we do I can’t wait to see this bauble hanging from it.

*This is my entry for The Gallery – the theme this week is ‘feeling festive’. This is as far as I’ve got so far, but hopefully by this time next week our tree will be up, fully decorated, and presents will have been bought.
