Kinect Star Wars review

April 9, 2012

We’ve been desperate to get our hands on Kinect Star Wars ever since we saw it in action at Gamescom. As a Star Wars-obsessed family the chance to experience what it’s really like to feel the Force and control the action Jedi-style using the power of movement (and your mind) was something we couldn’t wait to try.

The game lets you wield a Lightsaber, become a champion Pod racer, train to be a Jedi Master, master the Force, pilot Speeder Bikes and more. Because it’s Kinect (and full body gaming) it’s very active. The (tongue-in-cheek) Galactic Dance Off seems a little irreverent (Han Solo dancing anyone?) but the more authentic gaming experiences were inspired by all six movies. The graphics and sound effects are good, and if you’ve ever dreamed of what it feels like to battle Darth Vader (I know several boys who have) – Kinect Star Wars gives you a pretty good idea. 3.5 stars (out of 5)
