He makes the sun shine brighter than Doris Day

April 21, 2011

Me and George Michael go way back. Back to the days of Wham!, in fact, when neither my sister or I or any of our friends had a CLUE he was gay. In fact, we loved him so much, that after seeing Wham! in concert at Wembley we waited outside for 3 hours just for a glimpse of him in his coach. We knew every word of every song he wrote. I even had one of those Choose Life t-shirts.

(Before you go thinking I’m like Heather from EastEnders, I should stress that it was all fairly harmless.)

Now anyone who knows me knows that I’m a HUGE twitter fan. And when I saw George had joined I started following – more for the craic than anything.

But this evening, when he invited tweeps to guess which songs he didn’t have a band on in exchange for an RT I saw my opportunity and tweeted…

and to my utter surprise and astonishment he RT’d me.

I’ve waited 28 years. Jitterbug, etc, etc.

Your celeb action today has totally eclipsed mine. When I got to work today, David Cameron had got there first and was cluttering the place up.

What?! But he’s not a boy band. PS – how is your nose?

Oh, Liz. I’d have been weak-kneed. When I was ten, I loved George with the most intense passion. I used to get up early on Sundays and dance to ‘Make it Big’ in the living room 🙂

    George RT’ed you *squeak*
