Last year was very much a year of extreme highs and lows for me. Highs included being invited on fantastic trips, particularly the Disney Cruise, Disneyland Paris, Gamescom and visiting the Unicef Supply Centre in Copenhagen.
Lows included the loss of two relatives, and our beloved cat.
So I’m not really sorry to see the back of 2011. And there is quite a lot I want to achieve in 2012.
Starting with the New Year New Body challenge. I’m determined that I won’t reach my *cough cough* birthday out of shape, and being part of a group with other women all with the same goal is definitely going to help.
And I want to (need to) finish writing at least one of the novels I’ve started writing. You’d think, as I write professionally, writing a novel would come easily to me; but I guess that deep down there’s that awful fear of failure – that nagging voice saying ‘what if I’m rubbish?’
I’m going to ignore that voice and just get on with it. I know the ideas are good so I just need to finish at least one manuscript, send it off to agents and if that doesn’t work out, finish another one, and so on.
I am also going to pay off my two store cards, because the interest is ridiculous. (Note I didn’t say ALL my cards.)
2011? So over that. 2012? Bring. It. On.
*What do you want to achieve in 2012?
Happy New Year. Lots of highs and lows in the last year for me too, I think lots of people are happy to see the back of 2011! Bring on 2012 and I wish you all the best with your goals. Will keep an eye out on the blog to see how they come along 🙂
Happy New Year! And all the best of luck with your projects. Very intrigued to find out more about your novels. What are they about?
PS: I lost all my baby weight through calorie counting and it worked a treat for me, as there were no food groups I had to cut out. You can do it!! xx
Happy New year! And best of luck with the book, I’m trying to finish my novel off this year, so have a similar resolution. I hope you are successful.
Evey x
Yep novels and losing weight! Technically goals that should be acheivable…we shall see, you never know!
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Liz – have a really lovely year bursting with possibilities ! Get that book done mrs !
I’d really love to break the taboo that seems to exist about people from all walks of life going on parenting classes this year somehow. Not sure how I’m going to do it quite yet but I’d love to make it OK for parents to explore being the best they can be without judgement, finger pointing or tut tutting from other people.
I’d like to drop a dress size and walk my 3 dogs in the Surrey countryside more and help my daughter pass her driving test so I can stop being a taxi – oh and I’d love to travel to Australia and see inside the Sydney Opera House 🙂
Happy New Year to you. At the back end of last year I began my mission to get fit…again. So I now need to keep up with my weekly Karate, Zumba x 2, Step Aerobics & Spinning.
I’m going to see if I can expand my writing into other areas too. A good old-fashioned detox will kick start my year…just fruit and veg for a few days..with lots of smoothies…yummy!
For me small, achievable goals will be the aim.
Mmm now that’s rather unfortunate….S.A.G’s.! Small, achievable, goals!!
Good luck to you and all others with your S.A.G’s!!
Happy New Year! And good luck with the novel, I’m currently re-drafting mine before sending out to agents, so I know how you feel.
I hope 2012 is a successful one!
Evey (polythenepram) x
I’ve written myself a list of some small things that I need to address – and some big things, like losing a stone and giving up booze for a whole month (argh!). Good luck with yours x
Happy New Year to you too – our much loved cat died this year too and then my ex boyfriend bought me a kitten for Christmas!! Never been so shocked by a present before but he is very cute. The kids love it. Maybe thats the way forward for you……Lx
