When I look back at pictures of myself taken when I was younger I never really think ‘OMG, I look awful.’ What I think is ‘OMG, that hair’ or ‘OMG, my teeth’ (or in the case of this photo, both. This was pre-GHDs and whitening.) But I also think ‘OMG, I was SO YOUNG’ and ‘OMG, I didn’t have any crow’s feet,’ *sigh*.
In this photo I was channelling Ally Sheedy from St Elmo’s Fire stylewise, or something, and experimenting with being brunette, which I used to do a lot until I decided it really wasn’t me. I’m meant to be blonde, you see.
Anyway, there you have it. An awful photo of me. Make the most of it.
*This is my entry to the Gallery and the theme this week is embarrassing photos.
I think brunette suits you as well as blonde! I went through a perm phase in the 80’s–very Country and Western Singer, I think as I look back. I also ent through a phase of dying my drown hair so dark it was almost black. The beauty ofphases is that they don’t last forever!
Gosh and I thought you were a natural blonde! I think you look rather young-Demi-Moore x
That is some hair styling going on there! Do you have a natural wave? Thank goodness for hair straighteners now. 🙂
I wish I had had a perm now seeing all these fab mad hair-dos!
I have a similar pre-GHDs photo!
Blondes really do have more fun too, don’t they?
I don’t think that’s too bad at all!
I was an eighties teen too so I have very similar school photos to that and The Breakfast Club was my absolute favourite film of that time! You certainly look a lot different now!
It’s not that bad!
i think i had the exact same hair do! 🙂
I’m guessing mid 80s by the comparison with my own hair ‘frizz’ of the same era? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pic of myself that I liked AT THE TIME, but they only get worse as you get older, so looking back reminds you how thin and pert you really were!!
